The Sleep Disorder Center of Louisiana is currently seeking experienced Registered Polysomnographic Technologists to join our team. This position is responsible for polysomnographic recording, determining testing and treatment parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering Physician, Medical Director and/or SDC protocols. Additionally, this position is responsible for all technical duties related to the polysomnographic evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders providing high quality results and patient care.

Job Types: Full Time and Part Time $25-$30/hour

Qualifications 
 Currently Licensed in Polysomnography or Respiratory Therapy 
 Current RPSGT, RST or CRT/RRT 
 Current BLS Certification 
 Excellent Interpersonal Skills 
 Proficient Computer Skills 

At least a minimum of 1 year experience in an established sleep center, but not required

Responsibilities and Duties:
 Adhere to AASM guidelines and to departmental policies and procedures when performing job duties. 
 Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, accurately carry out detailed physician orders, and work with minimal supervision 
 Document observations such as sleep stages, clinical events, changes in pressure, and other significant events. 
 Prepare patients for baseline polysomnography, nasal CPAP/BiPAP and ASV titrations. 
 Implements therapeutic procedures such as nasal CPAP, BiPAP, ASV and supplemental oxygen administration, and works with patients to ensure compliance. 
 Applies electrodes and monitoring devices as defined in departmental policy and procedures and ensure artifact-free recording. 
 Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. 
 Complete procedural and computer documentation as outlined in departmental policy/procedure and obtain appropriate pre & post test questionnaires from patients. 
 Help prepare workplace for next night’s studies by cleaning/sterilizing equipment, maintaining equipment in a professional manner and storing/cleaning properly. 
 Extensive knowledge of polysomnography principles, practices and clinical applications; ability to act quickly and competently in difficult situations. 
 Scoring, analysis and associated interventions under the general oversight of the sleep center manager and/or the medical director. 
 Other related duties as assigned / required.
